WELCOME

Hello Beautiful! I'm Sarah. I’m a Registered Psychologist fortunate enough to be supporting women from all over Australia via video technology. I also have a Home Office in Novar Gardens, Adelaide, South Australia for those who prefer face-to-face consultations.

I'm super passionate about supporting women connect more deeply with their BEST SELF. My intention is to help empower my clients to live richer, fuller and more meaningful lives.

I can already tell you are motivated to make positive changes in your life, just by the sheer fact that you have found my page. As you are probably already aware, psychological support can be a great tool to help you to fulfill your potential and get into alignment with what you value the most.

I have an optimistic view of human experience and believe that you have the power within you to transform your life for the better. When you work with me you can expect warmth, empathy, a non-judgemental approach and practical support based on evidence-based strategies, so that you can make long-lasting change in the areas that are most important to you.

ABOUT ME

Sarah Davies Psychologist Adelaide

I am a wife, mother of an 11 year old son and 5 year old daughter. My family have a pet pug called Ruby. I have a love for architecture and interior design. I really value health and fitness, and believe mindset is an incredibly important component of this.

I have over 15 years of experience as a psychologist (showing my age here - yikes!) working in both Darwin and Adelaide across various settings such as Organisational Psychology, Family and Relationship Counselling, Rehabilitation and in Education.

I've also provided psychological support to Australian Volunteers living and working in Developing Countries, via Online Platforms.

I draw on a variety of approaches in my work, namely Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Narrative Therapy.

These are Psychological Therapies which are backed by scientific research, as effective in treating psychological challenges that this thing called life presents us with from time to time!

I continue to invest in my own Professional Development, to the extent that it is fair to say I’m actually quite obsessed with continuous learning to improve myself and assist my client in the best way possible.

fees

  • Sessions go for 50 mins and are $300

  • Limited after-hours appointments are available for 50 minutes on a Monday evening. The fee for these sessions is $320.

  • Fees are to be paid by either Cash or Credit Card on the day of your appointment. Credit Card payments are stored and processed via Powerdiary and Stripe (safe and encrypted site).

sessions

  • Video and Phone Consults are available so that you can access support from me anywhere in Australia.

  • More of my Adelaide clients are opting for Video/Phone Consults to save on travel time, to reduce time away from work and other commitments, and to minimise interaction due to COVID-19.

  • If you are in Adelaide and prefer a face-to-face appointment, you are welcome to nominate to meet me at my Home Office in Novar Gardens (next to Glenelg), Adelaide, South Australia.

  • Just let me know what your preference is at the time of booking your appointment.

rebates

  • If you require assistance with the cost of fees and happen to have Private Health Insurance, it is worth checking to see if your cover includes Psychological Services. This depends on your personal level of cover with your Private Health Insurance Provider (quote code 100 for your Initial Appointment and code 200 for all follow-up appointments). I will provide you with a receipt after each appointment so that you can claim your rebate from your provider. You do not need a GP referral if you want to claim with Private Health. You can simply self-refer to me.

  • Medicare also offers rebates under what is called a "Mental Health Care Plan" for therapeutic sessions with a Psychologist, for eligible clients. READ MORE HERE

  • If you believe you are eligible for a Mental Health Care Plan and therefore Medicare Rebates, you will need to visit your GP to discuss and complete a written referral before your first appointment with me.

  • This will then allow you to claim $92.90 back from Medicare at each of your approved sessions (Initial 6 sessions, with GP review and approval for up to 10 sessions per year).

  • You will need to provide a copy of the GP Mental Health Care Plan to me at your first appointment in order to claim the rebate (or ask your GP to email through prior to your first appointment).

  • If you have already have a current GP Mental Health Care Plan allocated to a different psychologist, but want to work with me, you will need to ask your GP practice to adjust the Care Plan Paperwork to reflect this with my Name and Provider Number. You will need to advise how many sessions you have had with the previous psychologist as well.

  • Please note that legally you cannot claim both Medicare and Private Health Rebates at the same time. You are only able to opt to claim from one.

OTHE R INFORMATION

confidentiality:

All sessions are confidential. Psychologists are legally bound by confidentiality which means that what you discuss cannot be shared with anyone.

There are some legal limitations to this rule, which are if you are at risk of harm to yourself or someone else, if your notes are subpoenaed by the court and in relation to court orders.

cancellations:

By engaging in therapy, it shows a commitment to attend appointments secured for you. As a courtesy, we send a 2-way reminder 3 days prior to your appointment so that you can confirm. If you need to cancel or reschedule, we require a minimum of 48 business hours notice.

If cancellation occurs less than 48 business hours before the appointment, or in the case of non-attendance, you will be charged the full session fee.

Your co-operation with this is very much appreciated, so that there is enough time for any cancelled appointments can be allocated to other clients on the waiting list.

what to expect at your visit:

The first session is an opportunity to get to know you, to gain an understanding of what you are hoping to receive support with specifically, what your goals are for the future, and the sharing of practical skills to start assisting you to make improvements in your life.

I will provide you with suggested reading material, video links, podcasts and other resources to further enrich what we cover in session, if you are interested in diving deeper between your appointments.
